Calling filmmakers and content creators with projects filmed in, set in, or inspired by the Eastern Cape
FAME Week Africa, in partnership with the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC), has officially opened applications for the ECDC Project Pitch Platform, offering filmmakers and content creators a unique opportunity to present their projects directly to industry leaders and key funding stakeholders.
The initiative is designed to uncover compelling stories that celebrate the Eastern Cape while creating opportunities for investment, production and industry growth within the province.
Selected applicants will be invited to participate in exclusive closed-door pitch sessions during FAME Week Africa, where they will present their projects to representatives from the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) and the Eastern Cape Film Investment Fund (ECFIF), alongside invited industry decision-makers.
Whether it’s a feature film, television series, documentary or other screen-based project, creators are encouraged to submit projects that are filmed in, set in, or inspired by the Eastern Cape.
MORE THAN A STORY
The ECDC Project Pitch Platform is looking for projects that not only tell exceptional stories but also demonstrate how they will contribute to the growth of the Eastern Cape’s screen industry.
Applicants will be asked to outline:
· Why the Eastern Cape is integral to their story.
· How the province’s locations, cultures, languages and heritage are reflected authentically.
· The national and international potential of the project.
· The economic impact the production will have within the province.
· How much of the production budget will be spent in the Eastern Cape.
· Which local businesses, suppliers and service providers will be used.
· How the production will create opportunities for Eastern Cape cast, crew and emerging creatives.
By placing equal emphasis on creative excellence and economic impact, the initiative aims to encourage productions that leave a lasting legacy for the province while showcasing the Eastern Cape as a world-class filming destination.
A PLATFORM FOR OPPORTUNITY
