FAME Week Africa gets the nod from MIPTV 59th Spring International Television Market, Cannes
“Following the launch of MIP Africa as part of FAME Week Africa (FWA) in 2021, we are delighted to have been invited to attend the MIPTV 59th Spring International Television Market in Palais de Festivals in Cannes,” says Judy Goddard, Event Director of FWA.
Starting today and running until Wednesday, 6 April, MIPTV, has confirmed several major international distributors, buyers and production companies for the much anticipated in-person market. MIPTV is a 3-day exhibition and conference, featuring MIPDoc and MIPFormats in partnership with CANNESERIES, it is a global meeting place for the content industry.
MIPTV, the three-day event from 4 – 6 April 2022, has confirmed several major international distributors, buyers and production companies for the much anticipated in-person market.
“With the international event lauded for its networking-matchmaking opportunities to meet with the global creative production industry, enhance industry understanding, discover the latest trends and track the newest programming around the world, FAME Week Africa’s invitation is a nod to our efforts so far to bring the world to Africa,” Goddard asserts.
MIP Africa offers a unique experience of pre-scheduled one-to-one matchmaking that guarantees meetings between distributors, producers, African buyers and commissioners to support programmes sales and co-production partnerships.
“It’s a major opportunity to spotlight the hottest film and television content to both African and international buyers,” Goddard notes, adding that with FAME Week Africa coming up in August 2022 in the globally-vaunted Host City of Cape Town, the FWA team is thrilled to be sending representatives to MIPTV Cannes and “bringing home as much knowledge as we can gather in three days”.
Designed to bring TV industry leaders together, MIP Africa forms the film pillar of FAME Week Africa, with pan African-based exhibitors creating a platform catering specifically to showcase the skill and capability of the continent.
Goddard says that being recognised as part of the world’s leading entertainment content markets, the FWA and MIP Africa partnership looks forward to highlighting African innovation while keeping abreast of global markets.
MIP Africa will take place at FAME Week Africa at the CTICC from 24 to 26 August 2022. For more information go to: www.mipafrica.com or www.fameweekafrica.com
